  This week, Real Madrid icon Kroos announced he would hang up his boots after Euro 2024 – sparking a deluge of tributes from fellow professionals, pundits, fans and more. Among the well-wishers was Al-Nassr star Ronaldo, who played alongside the German international at Real between 2014-18. The Portuguese legend said it was an "honour" to have been the 34-year-old's team-mate for a time and wished him the best for the future.

  On Kroos' Instagram post, Ronaldo commented: "(Thanks) for everything, Toni! What an honor to share the pitch with you. All the best for the future!"
